Global travel restrictions have made it necessary to move the next IFIP 9.4 in-person conference meeting to 2022. With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the globe, and work and research moving to a new world of digital encounters, the next year will see the need to leverage digital technology to keep research and community engagement vivid, with the spirit of solidarity that historically characterises the IFIP 9.4 community.
In the current pandemic conditions, a network of Universities has volunteered to host an IFIP 9.4 virtual conference for 2021. The Conference will run on a fully virtual format, otherwise mirroring the normal structure of plenary IFIP 9.4 convenings. As the event is finalised, we renew our invitation to colleagues and universities to take part in co-organisation, by submitting proposals for tracks or workshops to be part of the event. While short track descriptions (100-150 words) are suggested, we leave it to proponents to structure track or workshop ideas as preferred.
To this end, we would be delighted to receive track or workshop proposals by 10 January 2021, to be sent to the IFIP 9.4 Secretary at wg94.secretary [at] gmail.com. We would like to use time till then to gather ideas on topics that members of the IFIP 9.4 community would like to see discussed in the event, and in general feedback and suggestions on themes for discussion in a virtual IFIP 9.4 meeting. A timeline for the event is below.
We look forward to your ideas! All the best,
